How QR codes work
The QR code consists of a rigid square matrix. This matrix consists of black and white dots representing the encoded binary data. Special markings in three of the four corners of the square serve as guidelines. The data in the QR code is protected by an error correcting code. This tolerates the loss of up to 30% of the code, by taking this measure the QR code can be decoded.
The code contains various information:
- version information
- format information
- data part with coded data
QR code techniques
The QR code contains all relevant information that can be read using a mobile phone with a special application installed. You only need a mobile phone with access to the Internet, a camera and an appropriate application available on the Internet for free. All you have to do is take a photo of a QR code and the stored information will be displayed instantly (website, video, contact data, email address, Facebook profile, product information, etc.).
